Due to its location the place is excellent for taking pictures of nearby spots from up high.

The large building belongs to the ‘Gülhane Askeri Tıp Akademisi’ (= Military Medical Academy of Gülhane), first established in Istanbul in 1898 by Abdülhamit II, and transferred to Ankara in 1941. The building itself is more recent, of course.
