Cauldron. Urartian, late 8th or early 7th century. From a burial chamber at Altıntepe (near Erzincan).
Bronze. Height 51 cm. Diameter (rim) 70 cm.
[Do note: though found in a Phrygian tomb I transferred this object to the Urartian sub-gallery because of where it was made - D.O.]
Made from a single piece of hammered bronze. Around the mouth are four cast bull heads set opposite one another. The cauldron stands on a tripod, which is 66 cm high.
