On the picture (from left to right):
A noria (from Syriac: ܢܥܘܪܐ, nā‘urā / = vertical wheel for lifting water out of a river for the purpose of irrigation); the Yıldız Hamamı (Turkish bath) and the Hatuniye mosque, both built in 1510; the Hazeranlar Konağı, a large 19th century mansion that is now an ethnographical museum.
In the background: Three royal Pontic rock tombs (3th-2nd century BC) and Kızlar Sarayı, the partly restored fortified palace of the Pontic kings, which was transformed into a (lower) fortress/residence by Romans, Byzantines and Turks.
