On the picture: the inner gate of the ‘Parmak Kapısı’ (= Rung Gate, leading to the next degree of the fortress),
as seen from inside the inner citadel. The steep road (in the middle of the picture) leads to the Şark Kale, a massive bastion at the junction of the inner and outer citadel.
