The museum in Bolu is largely an archaeological museum, with some ethnography thrown in. I paid, as usual, more attention to the archaeological objects.
About the pictures: as so often the museum had an over-all light “policy” which in my mind added a bit to much of yellowish-orangey light that I decided to filter out on most of the pictures. In doing so I may have subtracted some of the original colour of objects, but I think the clarity of the result outweighs that possible loss. The lighting in general was very good, no glaring spotlights, just a nice well-spread light. Most objects had a short but clear translation in generally correct English. Technical terms were often explained in Turkish only, indicating – to me - the museum has an educational function for locals. In some showcases I found it hard to decide the period of the objects, because two periods were shown, without indicating which objects belonged to which.
I - where possible - gave the period and type of an object in its name. That saves me a lot of caption-writing.
