The SMC Purple Knights paused before their final weekend homestand of the 09 season to honor two tremendous seniors, AshleyH and MegO. Both have made their mark on the program and the NE-10 -- on offense, defense, and with the intangibles of leadership.

AshleyH owns the single season HR record, is tied for the career triple mark, is 2nd in runs scored, and is 3rd in RBIs, career batting average of .328 ... all with 8 games remaining! MegO has similarly impressive credentials: 2nd all time in wins by a pitcher, SMC record for doubles in a career, 2nd in RBIs, 3rd in runs scored, career batting average of .333. WOW!! Each have done whatever the team needed -- with AshleyH catching, playing Short, and patrolling Center; while MegO has pitched, played First, and patrolled Left. Plus, they've set great examples for how the game is meant to be played.

To add a tremendous exclamation point to the celebration of these two great young ladies, SMC swept Assumption -- as BOTH SENIORS blasted HOME RUNS in the wins. BRAVO!! Game photos are posted over here ...
