SMC celebrated Senior Day (click here for celebration photos) in style, with a dramatic sweep of Assumption -- 6-3 and 2-0 -- giving the Purple Knights 6 wins in their last 8 games. In doing so, the 09 team has now won more games this season (with six games remaining) than any softball team in SMC history other than those with Megan Roberge!Seniors AshleyH and MegO each homered on Senior Day -- with MegC also launching a HR. Hillary earned her 2nd collegiate win and MegO pitched a shutout to earn her fourth win in four starts. MegC had 5 rbi in game 1; Heather and KellyL each had a pair of hits. Kate had a BB and a HBP, making her real contributions to the wins at SS -- joining KellyL at 3B in a rock-solid left-side defensive performance.
