June 11th - It's finally warming up...lots of birds around now, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Finches, Nuthatches, Titmice, Dove, Sparrows, Chickadees, Downy Woodpeckers, Cowbirds, Hummingbirds...and the Mallards which have started visiting the yard (note I said yard...not lawn, it can only be weed-whacked, not mowed). We started throwing out corn for the Mallards, and Frank has named them...Henry and Gertrude.

May 19th - We have had a lot of bird activity around here this spring...these pictures represent just a few of the types of birds that are here regularly. This is the first year we have seen a female Rose Breasted Grosbeak, she showed up today and settled right in, not at all intimidated by the Blue Jays or Doves. We've not seen her mate yet.
