As I recall it was much cooler outside at night compared to inside our home without air-conditioning, like virtually all homes in the area at the time, especially if there wasn't a wind blowing. Gram was our live-in housekeeper and cook and the mother of Dot and Irene, my father's longtime off and on girlfriend. The view is to the north so that is the Harold Shields family home next door to us in the background.
