29-05-05 ben arthur

Having had a fairly hefty evening last night catching up with our friends, we decided to blow some
of the cobwebs away by walking up ben arthur, or the cobbler as it's more commonly known. It
starts with a fairly demanding climb followed by this section where the mountain plateau's out for
a while, before you begin on the last scrabble up a boulderfield, before climbing round the back
of the face of a cliff, to complete the last bit of the mountain.

Quite tough going.

This is a shot from a previous visit to the loch which is sitting a couple of hundred meters below
the ridge. I chose this shot above many others for the day, mainly as I liked the silhouttes of
the people standing on the edge of the ridge. You can see there are a number of other ridges and
valleys. In the space between the second and third valleys, lies loch lomond. Behind me, and
over the top of the cobbler, is Loch Fyne, where I was diving a couple of weeks ago.

That's it just now for the uploads, my brother's just arrived at the door, so I'm off through to
see him!
