11-01-05 anyone can play guitar

"As the world does turn
And if london burns
I’ll be standing on the beach with my guitar
I wanna be in a band
When I get to heaven
Anyone can play guitar and they won’t
Be a nothing anymore"

-anyone can play guitar, Radiohead

Anyone it seems, except me. Catherine bought me a guitar a couple of years back, and at first I
could knock out some decent riffs. Then malaise set in, and I've barely picked it up in anger over
a year or so. One of these days I promise myself I'll get some lessons and put it to use, just
not yet.

A day of holidays was spent confined to the house, the car was in for it's MOT, and the weather was
so bad I didn't dare stepping outside the front door, what with the gales and driving rain. I had
thought I would re-shoot this one for the 12th, but the other photos I took came out so badly I
stepped this one up a day.

Consequently due to the boredom, I found myself inside with not a lot to do, and ended up sticking
my name into google. I found two people who had posted links to my photos. The first was rather
cheeky, as he had taken a copy of one of my photos without permission, and posted it on his site,
albeit giving me credit - you can see it here. It's the photo of the single leaf left on the branch
(or the crisp packet if you beleive Zak!). The second was a link to a photo I'd taken in London -
1 London Bridge. It's an interesting building made of copper and glass, where a section of
the square tower has been cut away.

No other extras today as they were rubbish.

3 Days to go until 30!

Great shot. I like the placement in the frame and the straightforwardness of it. The guitar itself is beautiful and I think you've caught that well. On a side note, having read the accompanying lyrics, I wonder if Shaun would've thrown a copy of Radiohead at the Zombies? I have to admit, it took me a while to 'get' them, but I like them now.

I love this picture. For the record - there is no dust on the guitar - ahem.... it's in a case - mint pre-Sony Fender Strat, I get nervous just looking at it! By the way come to Asia to dive. And I thought Aberdeen were unlucky at the weekend

Great shot - love the composition, I know how you feel, my husband has a guitar that never gets played and is sitting under the bed gathering dust.

Like they say, good crop and composition. Being all thumbs, it is a mystery to me how people make music from them...

Maybe anyone *can* play guitar, but very few can be any good at it! I played when I was younger for about 7 years, and never was very good. Of course, I'm still trying to find something I'm good at! LOL! Very nice comp, good color treatment. Cheers!
