Across the street...

I shot this outside the camera shop. I'm so indecisive about
which zoom to get: the 70-200 f/2.8 IS (heavy!), the
70-200 f/2.8 (what, no IS?), the 70-200 f/4 IS, the
70-200 f/4 no IS (but a great price), or the 70-300 IS non DO.

Anyway, this is almost a 100% crop taken hand held, of course,
no IS, across a street.

other sizes: small medium original auto

All these lens are quite heavy though! I bought the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and I am not using it that much because of its weight.

You called Robin before you called me?????????????? Harumph. That said, I really like this shot. I have never shot with any of the 70-200s. Are you saying that none of them are as heavy as the 2.8 IS?

Well we talked, so I won't repeat. That said, this is a fine candid.

Gary, I shoot the "heavey" almost exclusively these days. 17 smacks is a lot to pay for a lens but I say it is well worth it. Believe me, you want the IS for this lens too. It has a shallow DOF and there will be times you'll want to opt for slower speeds to push that out a bit. IS is the saving grace at these times.

the 70-200 2.8 IS is kinda heavy but for some reason after you own it awhile.... ummmmm, I guess it stays heavy... :-)

...and what an interesting character!

Love this contrast Gary!
