Holocaust Memorial - Boston
There is a tradition among the people of Israel to put small stones on a tomb.
My understanding of this tradition is to let the dead know they have not been forgotten.
Or maybe to let the living know not to forget the dead.
I think it is like flowers to my people.
Whatever the actual meaning to the Jewish people,
I can tell you that many have visited this memorial.
They have brought their hearts and their courage.
They have paid their respect to the fallen.
I can not be sure how it touched their hearts,
but I can know how it touched mine.
