This is such a pretty photo. I swear the gray hairstreak is just about the prettiest butterfly around, but it's hard to appreciate it unless you see it in a photo like this where you can see the nice pleats in its wings, the checkered antenna, blah blah blah. I love hairstreaks. I don't remember noticing the orange on top of its head before--maybe I never saw it at this angle exactly. Can you tell this is one of my favorite butterflies?
