Places visited on this trip (April 20 & 21) are Santa Ana NWR, Frontera Audubon, Estero LLano Grande SP and South Padre Birding & Nature Center
2012 Trip
Places visited on this trip (Sept. 28 - Oct.1) are Old Port Isabel Rd, Santa Ana NWR, Frontera Audubon, Estero LLano Grande SP, Hidalgo Pump House, NABA Butterfly Center and Edinburg Scenic Wetlands. Not many butterflies but the gardens at all places were looking great.
2011 Trip
Places visited on this trip (Nov 4 - 6 2011) were Frontera Audubon Center, Santa Ana NWR, Edinburg Scenic Wetland, Estero Llano Grande State Park, Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park and NABA Butterfly Gardens.
Despite the drought, wind and cloudy conditions the trip was great.
2010 Trip
Places visited on this trip (Nov. 5-8, 2010) where Estero Llano Grande, Edinburg Scenic Wetlands, Old Hidalgo Pump House, NABA Butterfly Gardens and Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge.
I am ready for another trip, it was a great place to see so many butterflies.
