In 1993 ,the architect in charge of the construction of a new mall in Christchurch,"Cashel Plaza", asked David Lara to create 3 large sized paintings directly on the floor of the central square in the mall.
For this commission, the collaboration of local artist Tiffany de Castro was essential and the works took over 3 weeks to complete.
The first painting was a fluid and dancing image of 15x6m in the centre of the square.
The second painting was following the pattern of the first one with a size of 13x2m, and the third was painted on a wooden circular base of 2.5 m and hung from the ceiling on top of the other two works.

At the end, all the floors and murals were covered with two layers of a two-pack poliurethan that made it possible to install tables, stands and shops on top of it without damaging the paintings.
