The Wanda Beach Surf Life Saving Club hoves into view at long last. At this end of the beach, the
sand has become a great deal softer and walking has become a lot harder. As we trudge up the sandy
pathway between the dune preservation plantings we are pretty tired and (after more than five
hours) in a good deal of pain. For me it's feet, legs, lower back and left hip. Gerry, who is still
suffering jet lag, arising from the day before yesterday's flight from Vancouver, is mostly just
plain tired. In my opinion, he has done remarkably well - but then he has always been fitter than
me to begin with.

The girls have left us a car in the SLSC parking lot. We divest ourselves of backpacks and such
and head to our motel for showers and rest. Later, we plan a good night out at a top Cronulla
seafood restaurant. It's a hard life.

Tomorrow it's right back here for the LAST SECTION OF THE PROJECT and on to Bass & Flinder point.
