John had moved to San Francisco in May 1971 (the second time). David followed him there at Christmas.
Then in the Spring of '72 we left the city together.
This was in the Donner pass, on our way to the mellow mountains of Colorado (which we quickly abandoned).
On the left is our friend John Love (Fountain) and the two dogs are Govinda and Beaver (the black one), John’s dog named after Beaver Bauer.
