This view shows the setting of the central piers along the bearers, after the end piers have already been set. You can see a small wooden stud used to prevent the bearer sagging under the weight of itself and 2 uni-piers. The piers were adjusted level vertically as the concrete was poured in, and then the circular formwork was dropped and used to create a raised cylindrical concrete pier around the base of the metal uni-pier.
