1.ISAAC1 BOYETT died Unknown. He married MARY POLLY LANGLEY.She died Unknown.
Notes for ISAAC BOYETT:
It has not been proven that Isaac and Mary Polly Langley Boyett are the parents of Joseph Josiah Boyett.Information received from Laura Edward, August 2000, indicates that hand-written notes from her husband's grandmother indicate that her great great grandfather was Joseph Josiah Boyett and that his parents were Isaac and Mary Polly Langley Boyett.
Irma Kathleen Wilson Edwards was the daughter of Leola Virginia Boyett, Leola Virginia was the daughter of James Jackson and Sarah Jane foster Boyett.
There is an Isaac Boyett in the 1802 Johnston Co NC Tax List in Pearce's District
North Carolina Wills Index 1665-1900 page 130 and 131, among many other Boyetts, lists a Polly Boyte in Wayne Co, in 1838 and an Isaac Boyet in Wilson Co in 1872.
North Carolina 1820 census index shows an Isaac Boyett in Bladen Co, NC, and a Mary Boyet in Wayne Co, NC
There is an Isaac Boyt in the 1777, 1778 and 1779 census for Martin Co, NC.
Information received from Glenn Boyett (FGBOYETT@aol.com), Mar/2002, indicates the "theory" that Isaac Boyett was the son of a Josiah Boyett, whose father was a George Boyett born abt 1715.It is thought that this George born 1715 is a brother of Thomas and Edward Boyett. This George had a son named Josiah and possibly a son named Joseph.

Children of ISAAC BOYETT and MARY LANGLEY are:
2. i. JACOB2 BOYETT, d. Unknown.
3. ii. JOSEPH JOSIAH BOYETT, b. December 25, 1795, North Carolina; d. October 08, 1867, Randolph County, Ga.

Descendants of Isaac Boyett
Generation No. 2

2.JACOB2 BOYETT (ISAAC1) died Unknown.

Child of JACOB BOYETT is:
4. i. JAMES W.3 BOYETT, b. December 1811, Georgia; d. Unknown.

3.JOSEPH JOSIAH2 BOYETT (ISAAC1) was born December 25, 1795 in North Carolina, and died October 08, 1867 in Randolph County, Ga.He married GATSY PEACOCK May 18, 1819 in Laurens County, Ga, daughter of URIAH PEACOCK and SARAH TURNER.She was born October 27, 1803 in Washington County, Ga, and died February 27, 1891 in Henry/Houston County, Dothan, Ala.
Notes for JOSEPH JOSIAH BOYETT:
Joseph Boyett was born Christmas Day, 1795, in North Carolina (some sources say Wayne County, NC, but this has not been proven) and appeared in Laurens County, Georgia, as a single man, in 1819 where he drew once for Georgia land in the state land lottery. He then married on May 8, 1819 and settled in Randolph County, Georgia, in 1833, where he died shortly after the end of the Civil War in 1865.
According to the "Official History of Laurens Co, Georgia, 1807-1941", the following were fortunate drawers in the 1819/1820 land lottery:
Isaac Boyett (2 draws)
Arthur Boyett (2 draws)
Josiah Boyett (1 draws)
Thomas Boyett (2 draws)
There were several Boyetts in Laurens Co, Ga around 1820, Arthur, Lock, Betsey and Jacob.Lock Boyett married a Nancy Fort.
Requirements for the 1820 lottery were that no previous winner could participate, except indigent or invalid Revolutionary War veterans had one draw. Drawers had to be Georgia residents for three years prior to 1818, US citizen, or veteran of late Indian War who lived in Georgia after the war.Could this indicate that this Isaac Boyett that was in Laurens Co, Georgia at the same time as Josiah for the 1820 land lottery was, in fact, his father and possibly a Revolutionary War soldier. Married men with children 18 years of age or younger were allowed two draws. It would also indicate that Isaac and his family were in Georgia by at least 1814 or 1815 due to the three year requirement.
In March 1833, Joseph Josiah purchased for $2075, over 200 acres of land in Randolph County that was the family home until he died.
Joseph appears in Randolph Co, Georgia for the 1840, 1850, and 1860 census.
(Source: Randolph Co, Randolph County Historical Society, 1977)
The following from "The History of Clay Co, Ga", Chapter IV, The Lost Town of Cotton Hill":
"I still remember the beautiful and hospitable homes of the Jester, Shivers, Boyett, Oliver Morris, Green,....wealthy farmers whose plantations were the show places of Southwest Georgia".
Joseph Josiah was called by the name "Josiah"
Updated information received via email March 2002, from Glenn Boyett (fgboyett@aol.com) indicates that there is a George Boyett born about 1715 who is reported to be a brother of Thomas Boyett (b 1710) and Edward Boyett (B. bet 1700-1716). This George is reported to have had two sons, Josiah and Joseph. Possibly this George's son Joseph or Josiah may have been the father of Isaac Boyett, who is alleged to be the father of Joseph Josiah Boyett. More research is required.

Notes for GATSY PEACOCK:
Gatsy's birthplace of Washington Co, Ga is taken from the family bible.
There has beenno documentation to prove that Gatsy's father was Uriah Peacock though circumstances seem to prove that to be true.
According to family stories handed down through the generations, Gatsy was a woman of strong faith, she was described as serene during the War between the States when her son George was fighting with the Confederate Army. Gatsy was confident not only that George would return, she also was certain he would be unharmed, just as it is written in Psalms 91:7, "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand, yet it shall not come nigh thee."
The 1870 census for Clay County, Georgia shows Gatsy living alone, born in Georgia.
Gatsy is living in the home of her son John Boyett in Clay Co, Georgia in the 1880 census.

Notes for ROSA LEE BOYETT:
The information that Addie Mae is the child of Rosa Lee is speculation. It is known by family members that Dollie Boyett had an older sister who died at a young age.The older sister had a baby, Addie Mae.This baby was raised by George and Mary as a sibling to their children.
Addie Mae is living in the household of George and Mary Boyett in the 1900 census.Addie Mae's father, John Camp had died in Nov of 1909, her mother died in 1893.
Email from Steve Groh, Aug 24 1999 provides information that from the book "Henry County Alabama Records Vol II (1821-1901) a J.R. Camp married a Rosa Lee Boyett on Sept 7 1890.Four years later on Dec 26, 1894, J.R. Camp marries Mittie Dillard. This is further proof that Addie Mae is the child of Rosa Lee Boyett.J.R. Camp may be the brother of Henry Stanton Camp, who married Rosa Lee's sister, Annie Jane.

Notes for HENRY TALBOT FORT:
The place of Henry Tolbert Fort's birth is a mystery at this time. His death certificate shows his place of birth as Georgia. His son, Alvin Forte's, delayed birth certificate shows his father's place of birth as Culbert, Alabama.I have been unable to find such a place in Alabama. There is a Cuthbert, Ga in Randolph Co, and a Colbert/Franklin County in northwest Alabama, on the Mississippi line.
Mattie Lou Boyett Fort's death certificate indicates that she was born in Cuthbert, Randolph Co, Georgia.
Henry's year of birth is shown at 1851 on some sources and 1855 on his death certificate.
1930 census shows Henry's age as 78, which would put his DOB as approximately 1852.The census indicates he was married at age 24, and that his wife Mattie was age 15.Both show places of birth as Georgia for themselves as well as their parents.
Living in the household of Henry and Mattie is their daughter Celia Virginia Locke and five of her children. Also living a home are George, age 27, Alvin age 21, Bessie age 19 and Crawford, age 15.All children show places of birth as Alabama.
Henry spelled his last name without the "e".The 1930 census for Georgia, Fulton County, Atlanta, shows the spelling with the "e".
The 1880 census for Randolph Co, Ga shows Talbot Fort, age 20, born Georgia, living in the household of Sarah E. Jordan, as her son. This age differs from other documents.
