CUTHBERT -- Arthur Lee "Uncle Bud" Boyett, 83 of Morris died Friday December 28, 2012 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 30th at 2:00 PM in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Clay County with Rev. Mike Hartley officiating. Mr. Boyett was born August 19, 1929 in Houston County, Alabama the son of the late Robert Lee and Maudie Howard Boyett. He was a retired truck driver for Ryder Truck Lines and attended Morris Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister; Imogene B. Knight of Dothan, AL., a nephew; William "Bill" Knight and wife Patty of Abbeville, AL. and a great-niece; Stormie Knight of Abbeville, Al. Memorials may be made to Morris Baptist Church, 231 Morris Road, Morris, Ga. 39867. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lunsford Funeral Home. Bluffton schools were merged into Clay County High School. This
school ceased to exist when the Clay and Randolph County High
Schools were consolidated and located in Randolph County.

The nurse who admitted the first patient at Southeast Alabama Medical Center passed
away this week.

Imogene Boyett Knight, 84, of Abbeville, passed away on Monday at SAMC.
Knight admitted the first patient, to what was then referred to as Southeastern Alabama
General, in 1957 when they opened at their current location at East Main Street and
Ross Clark Circle.
