SX SJB-62 4+1 fretless

It's about as cheap as you can get, but for my first fretless that's exactly what I asked for and Santa delivered. It's supposed to be a copy of a 1962 fender Jazz, except, of course, that this copy has five strings instead of four. I have some minor issues with it but for $129 I decided against making a big deal about them since it serves its purpose. Playability and build quality are OK, but I do have to admit that it's really pretty and for cheap electronics I do like the tone (pretty growly, though for a fretless I'd really prefer a warmer, more mellow tone).

After playing it more and more over the last 10 months I'm finally getting less uncomfortable without the frets (still not at the point I could say I'm comfortable). It's a fun change and it's also improving my ear. Maybe I'll replace it with a decent fretless bass if the right one at the right price just happens to fall into my lap.
