Looking through and reading Ron's comments in his PAD gallery is one of the great pleasures of every day for me. Not only to see how much his art improves each day, but also because of how enlightening, entertaining and diverse his subject matter and commentary are.

I would advise any who enter here to be sure and click any links (especially the one for Chullully in his Moraine Gallery) he provides. He uses these to expand the experience in the way only a truly great teacher, who loves his subject can. You will be surprised at how much you can enjoy learning and how much it will deepen your appreciation and expand your range of vision.

I am so proud to be part and partner to this modern day Renaissance man…In front of the lens and behind it.

Darter.. Thank you for sharing this with me. In the past months since we started talking, I've looked at this album more time than I could count. The art you've captured has stolen my breath away and, at times, given me a sense of peace and awe that settled me on my rougher days. It's sad to think that it is over.. though I already know it won't keep you from taking photographs.
And one day, years down the road, when you're very, very old.. you can look back on it all and remember everything.. even when your own memories try to get fuzzy on you.
I'll be forever glad you found another thing to bring pure joy into your life.

Oh, the THIRD shot I've posted using this lense on 03-08-04 is definatly soft in focus. I know that is due to shooting while driving down the road. LOL A combo of lifting the lens up, holding itover the wheel and firing away while going around the curve, not to mention shooting through the wind shield, most likely is the culprit...LOL ;-)

Hey Ray, thanks for the thought. I've only posted two here so far. The house sparrow on 03-04-04 and the photo of my buddy on 03-07-04. The first was maybe the third shot I had taken with this lense and the later was on a day that was overcast. I posted more of that particular shoot in the Rural PA, Winter 2004 gallery. I haven't really used this lens much yet and think it will be a while until I get the hang of it 100%. LOL It's a lot of glass... Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to learn soon enough if the images are soft due to me, which I suspect, or due to the lens itself acting up. Of course, I thought the one of the bird was pretty sharp with a well blurred back ground. The one of Jimmy was taken while he was moving along at a good pace through the underbrush, so that may have made it a tad soft as well. Thank you for the input.

First let me say that your photo's are all of superb quality as are your compositions. I view your photo's daily and am always impressed.
My main concern though is the quality of your new Canon 70-200IS. So far all 70-200 photo's that you've posted are very soft, blurred in fact. This is for sure not your fault as you are a superb photographer. Your images taken with the 28-135 and 17-40 are far sharper. Possibly a bad lens or your 10D doesn't image well with it as the 70-200IS is just about the sharpest zoom Canon makes. Just a few concerned thoughts about this very expensive lens. Keep up the superb work!!

Great work if I do say so myself (ha ha). Really, You have a very strong eye for composition and are very proficient in interpreting all subjects that you photograph. Keep up the great work!!!!!
