Allegheny National Forest, PA

After a light breakfast, we secured the campsite and headed down the road to the Yellow Hammer Coral. I’ve driven by this small ranch for many years and never stopped before. There we met Dave, who took us on a simply pleasurable cross country ride through the forest. We all agreed that this was one of the best horseback trips any of us have ever had. I used to work on a ranch when I was young and since then any time I’ve had to rent a horse for a ride, it was a broken down horse that followed well-worn trails in a circle back to camp with a lot of goofy tourists in tow. This was like back when I was able to go on private rides, Dave was super cool and the horses where healthy and well cared for. Of course, Cat and I both are still feeling a tad “saddle-sore.” LOL

By the way, I never realized just how hard it would be to shoot photos from the back of a moving animal....

LoL Now im really home sick!!! I miss the trail rides. We belonged to a riding club in Mt. Holly Springs and travelled all spring and summer to other clubs around the state. Was so much fun!! I enjoyed Lake Raystown the best, but every place had its unique beauty.
I have horses now here out west, but I miss the Mountains and the TREES!!! LoL
stop by and visit my galleries sometime :) Enjoy
