Schenely Park, Pittsburgh

I went for a walk in the park as it was so nice out today. I was on my cell phone with my mother when this raptor flew by. I watched where it landed in the trees on the hill. Hanging up I headed up there. It flew away from me a few times but each time I would stalk it and try to get close. That’s how I got this shot.

This is an adult Red-tailed hawk, Buteo jamaicensis.

Add another WOW! Raptorial...You captured one nano-second (sp?) of his life and he knows it.
This is a bird of prey!

I am green with envy... this is a shot I wish I had taken. Really nicely captured. I'm wondering if you waited a long time for it or just happpened by it and snapped away. I usually have to wait a long time for any of my bird shots.
