Parks Grotto Falls

Kentucky, US

Cave explorer Curtis Beasley assists with a T-32 electronic flash. This small falls is the source of the fabulous Parks Grotto rimstone/flowstone formation (see gallery for image). Note the unusual sand/mud casts at the lower right. These appear to form after carbonate formations fill with sediment, and then are dissolved away, leaving the cast.

Claudiu:

I have only used RAW a few times, but gave it up due to the lack of software support. I could not really tell much difference between it and, say, TIFF of SHQ JPEG files. I shoot almost exclusively in JPEG mode now.

Yes, the wide angle WCON-08D must have the CLA-8 adapter. The Ring around the front of the 8080 lens (NOT the lens itself) unscrews and the CLA-8 threads on in its place. Very solid, but adds quite a bit of heft to the camera.

Beautiful place.
I would like to ask you to tell me a few technical details about your camera: how it works with RAW files ? (especially the quality of RAW file). The wide angle lens is atached with an adapter to the camera ?

Best regards,
Claudiu Szabo
