Located 8000 feet from the entrance, deep within the Webster Cave System (Breckinridge County, KY, US), Parks Grotto is a well hidden but beautiful display of calcite speleothem. Water crashing from an inpenetrable ceiling lead has deposited minerals over the floor of this cave chamber for eons. The color imparted upon the calcium carbonate is due to impurities. In this image caver Curtis Beasley fires a Sylvania M-3B flashbulb. Two secondary Olympus T-32 electronic flashes provide fill flash, tripped by Firefly slave.
