After looking at a rare (for us) Elegent Tern at Surfside I decided to spend some time around the salt marshes on Surfside, TX and came across this Clapper Rail who was hunting Fiddler Crabs. During his hunt he walked so close to me that I needed to use my 100-400mm lens to be able to fit his whole body in the photo. It is such a neat feeling when a bird will carry on with its daily activities seemingly unaffected by our presence.
