Most of California's avocados come from the Central Coast. The drought has forced many of the orchard owners to cut back their trees so that they don't die. They are coated with a white substance to protect them from sun damage and the hope is that rains later in the year will bring them out of dormancy. This is part of a major orchard just outside of Morro Bay.
