We have something similar in Texas. Medina Lake was surrounded by retirement homes and local businesses. The water has all but disappeared, with just a small pool of water left. All the marinas and houses are now surrounded by dried earth. Your images are stark yet beautiful with the dry land and the blue water. Voted.
