Last summer, I posted some images of a hummingbird that we encountered on an ongoing basis. He had an established territory. There were two bushes in it that he claimed as his, and he regularly defended against any other birds that ventured near. We took 'many' shots of him, and he began to feel like a friend. We named him Charlie.
A little more than a month ago, we noticed a hummingbird in Charlie's home territory. We've made several trips back to the area, and each time the bird has been there. We're fairly convinced that this is Charlie and welcome him back like a long absent friend. However, there's a band on his leg, which we didn't see last year. So, if it isn't Charlie, we'll be happy to name him 'Charlie II' and look forward to many more visits throughout the spring and summer.
