You never know what you'll find along the roads of Vancouver Island, but I must say an Emu was one of the least expected! The bird was in a farmers field, alone and just asking for its' photo to be taken.

Full disclosure, I did do a sky replacement on this image. The light was not great and the original background ended up totally white. I thought this unusual discovery deserved a bit more colour.
