This little fellow lives in Parksville, BC. and over the last several weeks we've past through his territory on a somewhat regular basis. He has a bush he claims as his spot and he defends it bravely. Each time we visit he's either on his perch or shows up in short order. Between Carl and myself I'm sure we've shot hundreds of images of him.

He's kind of a shy fellow, doesn't like to 'shine' in the light, no showy aerial flights or fluttering of feathers. This is one of the few shots I've gotten that shows any of his handsome gorget. As you can tell we've become somewhat attached to this bird and felt he needed a representative name. We call him 'Charlie'.
