It's always fun during herring season on Vancouver Island and the opportunity for unique images is a treat for photographers. Here you see a determined fisherman, confident in using his customized craft as a quick way to get out and catch a few fish. I wasn't to sure he would stay afloat, or not tip over with the first small wave. (For safety's sake he had a life jacket 'onboard', but he never did put it on.) He made it safely to his preferred fishing spot and I'm hoping he made it back to shore with no problems.
