In fall and winter the Varied Thrush, a native species found along the Pacific Coast, eats fruit and berries from trees and bushes. This includes crabapples, native salal, thimbleberry, cascara, snowberry and others as well. Small groups will continue feeding on until the bush or tree is striped bare. ~ Birds & Blooms
