This immature bald eagle was feeding on the beach and a mature flew over to chase it away. The immature immediately rolled on its back, talons up, apparently ready to defend itself. The mature eagle flew away and left the somewhat younger one to enjoy more of its feast.
It takes four or five years for an eagle to fully mature and achieve its distinctive coloration. ~ Canadian Federation of Wildlife
