Steel is a derivative of iron.
The Eygyptions were making tools of iron in 3000 BC.
The Greeks were producing hardened iron weapons in 1000 BC.
All iron was classified as wrought iron until 1400 AD.
Eventually through smelting process a pig iron product
was produced and it was further refined to make steel.
So, steel is a derivative of iron.
I was going to take a photo of my great grandfather's
cast iron pot and one of my stainless steel pots, but
I think the ships bow is more interesting.
