Thanks, Tom. I checked with the missus and she agrees with you, so I put it back. The Redux is in Pending. Any comments from others would be appreciated. Cheers, -mikey

Who cares about clarity? The angle and striking "pose" in the first version was better. This is level, linear and almost static by comparison imho. -tv

Thanks for commenting, folks. I had another go at shooting these guys at a faster SS ("full exif" shows old speed). The previous shot was dramatic and showed enough movement alright, but I wanted to see if I could improve the clarity of the subject by panning better (both shots were shot "from the hip", no VF) and speeding up the SS a bit. In case you're wondering how I can get so many shots of Magpies; we took in five fledgelings from a deserted nest (fox got the mom) two weeks ago and now they think I'm "Dad", so every time I walk out the door, its like I'm cursed. Awk, aaawk, aawk, as they follow me around the yard while I do my ranch chores. Lots of fun. Thanks again. Cheers, -mikey
