Great effect and nice abstract composition and colors. The mix of sharpness and out of focus creates a nice mood.

Fantastico, I'm in luv again:-)

Ok. Sorry. *grin* Here, it's back. :)
Thanks, Rod. ~Lydia

I think like a typical girl you have over reacted:-) I only wanted the right flower yellow centre desaturated & wondered wot it would look like without some of the blotches around the outside. The grain & textures have gone & the slight details in the flowers have buggered off too. I'm pretty sure your original looked far nicer. Changes should be made in little steps medear:-)

Tom, I didn't mean to imply that I didn't process it. I thought I was saying that I didn't add the textures except the graininess. I used shadow/highlight and contrast, I think.
My EXIF gets stripped when I use Save for Web (which I always do 'cause it's so much easier to adjust file size).
Here ya go: f4.8 1/90th ISO640 60mm

The colors probably were increased in saturation automatically in Shadow/Highlight... I've desat'ed them a bit now. I think you're right, Rod... It's better.

Amazing effect out of camera if no manipulation in pp. It would be instructive to see the exif. I wonder what happens to yours. -tv

Wow Lydia. How artsy. Such drama. Exceptional! -COAmature

I would like to see how this looks wivout the dot stuff blotching around the edges as I really like the look of the grain around the other areas. The only colour that distracts me is the cut off yellow on the right flower. I think I would desaturate just that bit. Excellent work megirl.
ctfchallenge09-May-2008 22:14
Eek! I didn't adjust the colors at all. *eek* ~Lydia

Have to disagree on that one, Tom. I think it was a very nice touch, and an addition to a classic look.
ctfchallenge09-May-2008 21:50
This could be surreally raw and expressionistic and very much to my taste if it weren't for the selective colors that strain to make it more of a flower picy. The colors might actually add to the tension but I still think it would be better without them. -tv

The graininess/dot stuff was added. The rest is all camera natural... ~Lydia
