4th: Wide Load on the Road
by GeraldH

This title was suggested by Brent in the forum for an image of a hippo crossing a bridge. It made me instantly think of this shot. Seems we will never see the hippo pic here, so Brent, I hope it is okay using your idea (if not, please let me know and I shall remove this entry, if yes, many thanks for the title).

I like the PP. It's wonderful, IMHO. I'm glad you're back then, Gerald. I must have come as you temporarily left. I look forward to more of your entries. Thanks for the compliment! ~Lydia

This is excellent, and I suspect it might even be better without the pp. So don't pp.. just p - more often. It's more fun that way. -tv

I, for one, am pretty much a beginner in photography. I am enjoying this forum because people are willing to make suggestions (in a nice way) and I can learn. Being given a topic and a timeframe is nice because it offers an incentive to actually take the photos. If you really do enjoy photography I would suggest you try posting something for the next few challenges - even if you don't think you're posting your best work, it's still fun to see what people think. Give it a try! Penny Street

Thanks, Penny, Lydia, Julie and aam.

Lydia, aam is right, I have been posting a few entries during the last 4 years. In spite of very interesting topics, I did not manage to produce something worth to be entered since a year or so, I cannot find the reason, perhaps I am overworked; at least, my interest in photography has not decreased, but on my impression, I took better pictures in the beginning. (In contrast to your work, you are really in the ascendant.) - Aam, yes, I used some (perhaps a bit too much) radial blur for the OOF area. The look is somewhat unnatural. At a driving speed of 20 mph, the exposure time (1/40s at f/8) was too short for a really nice motion blur.

Couldn't help wondering if the OOF area is through the camera or from PS work.
Btw, GeraldH is a long time poster here, unfortunately he doesn't post very often :(
