3rd:The Halls Of Henry *

Fort Henry is located in Kingston, Ontario, Canada
and is named after its location Point Henry. The
original fort was built during the war if 1812 between
Great Britain (Canada being at that time a British colony)
and the United States of America and then rebuilt, as seen
today, between 1832-1837. It is located near the mouth
of the St.Lawrence River.

Shu - I love this - well done. I keep getting the sensation that the right side of those columns closest to me are tipping off to the right ever so slightly, while the doorway in the distance looks plumb. - Kelly

Rod--and Oh, I hand-colored the lantern........now don't deduct more points because of it! LOL BTW, thanks gang for your support. I can't seem to be a photographic purest no matter how hard I try. Like Rod, you can always let me know when you think I've overdone the PP. I'll just cry, wring my hands and give up the challenges if you do.......LOL shu

Bugger off, Rod. *grin* Shu, this is fabulous! And if it's HDR, then let it be HDR... it works. That's all that matters. A VERY interesting mix of shapes to fascinate the viewer for quite a while. Well done. ~Lydia

I don't see the issue here (but then I don't know HDR or what it means either). Looks like indirect illumination from the bright sun to me. Which Henry? The arches look medieval, say, before 1300. The last Henry Tudor was VIII, well into the Renaissance 16th century. Or did they all tread here? -tv

I don't think HDR is a bad thing. Not all photos need to look "natural". This one does have a character of its own, even if Rod doesn't like the details :-) /Oved

looks like Rod is intent on "catching" someone doing an HDR thingy!...
but I like this shot - the repetition into the distance, the look of the stone and also the yellow lantern which breaks the pattern partway through - b.c.

If this was done by just good exposure I will do the cooking for a whole month:-) Look at the well exposed highlights & shadows on the floor, the bricks would be in shadow too & not show this amount of detail...............I hope I'm right I hate cooking:-)

Shame on you Rod, this looks like proper photography to me! It seems all good exposures these days are accused of being HDR! Again, nice one. -mcbit

Great looking shadows & archways. Have you bin naughty & done this in the HDR type thingy?:-) There seems too much detail in the bricks & doesn't look quite natural. I think you have shocked me Shu:-)
