Dragonfly Lunch

Outer Banks, NC USA

I was surprised that this dragonfly kept motionless with the camera only two inches from him. Suddenly he flew right at me, grabbed a fly out of mid air that was buzzing just above my head, and then flew right back to where he started and devoured the fly. I felt like a National Geographic Photog :-)

Yuck. I try to never eat bugs. LOL. That upper shot is perfect, IMO. ~Lydia

Another nice "mini-documentary", and great catches! The extra PP worked miracles :)

Simple but interesting story. I wish some of these bugs lived where I am. I never see them. Just people insects in the city. -tv

Thanks CJ. I fixed the levels and that removed the color cast and boosted the contrast. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wow - those are some great closeups of the dragonfly Neo! Increasing the contrast a little and maybe darkening the highlights might make him stand out more from the b/g, but great as is too! CJ
