28-OCT-2007 Oved

4th: 70 years

I only took the picture of 2004 - the one from 1934 was taken by a pro photog. Had a small film Pentax at the time (and a bigger heavier Minolta Unimat :-)

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thanks all! I appreciate your warm comments, even though I can't have credit for the idea - it was my fathers'. In 1994 he asked me to take their picture with the same pose as in the old photo of 1934. He then glued them on paper in the same form as here (I have one of those copies in our living room). Ten years later he asked me again... I hope to do the same photo in 2014 too :-)

I have shots like this of me & the missus 40 years apart still arguing about who's cooking dinner:-)
This looks great Oved mate it's truly awesome to be still good friends.

True love. Fascinating to study how they looked at eachother then - and now. They're mellower, yet still as sweet as puppies :)

My wife put our wedding picture and a picture one of our kids took of us hanging out on the sofa. She put them in the same frame using a paper border to combine them for our 25th anniversary. It sits right adjacent to my computer monitor at work. So she did this the old fashioned way. It is funny, that I didn't even notice this as a similar exercise until I saw these wonderful photos. Nice. John

What an incredible image. We try to appreciate such a leap of time but as youngsters, it's beyond comprehension and as oldsters its a brief, lost history. Still, such a representation of life passing is a rare and moving experience. -tv
