thanks again everyone. Rod - regarding the border, hmmm, maybe hot pink wouldn't be a bad idea.... or I could've done some of those drop shadowy ones, but that would have required too much thinking :)

I don't know wot thematic means but I know this shot is crying out for a hot pink border:-)

Very nice. An educational sanity to this :) Interesting to look at, good colors and thematic variation between the shots. (And bless you for that border!)

Very well done. This example shows that it doesn't take much to establish the visual connection between the two images. Here, the color of the egg does it in an elegent and understated way. More "clutter" in the upper frame could have ruined it. -tv

Thanks Rod, Abstract, John and JV.
We watched this woman carving these eggs for quite some time, her skill was pretty impressive. She handed her knife over to us to try, but we declined, not wanting to ruin her handiwork! We bought a finished one as a souvenir instead.
The 2nd shot is one of my favourites from this particular town - before this challenge I had never thought of trying to combine 2 shots, but now that I see it myself, I think the combo would look great enlarged. See - these challenges can teach you something! thanks again - b.c.

Individually, each of these pictures is very good, but what makes this entry really work is the fact that putting them together is more interesting that the sum of the parts. This is exactly the type of entry I was hoping to see. Good Job.

Very creative B.C. You definitely are interpreting the relationship idea. I guess my brain is slightly mis-wired since I am always pushing the rule envelope. I would have expected more scratches/cuts on this guy's hand. John

excellent relationship between two shots. it is very impressive that these patterns were made by hand with a small knife. -Abstract

Well done B this does look good for a silly dip thingy. My shots all came out skinny this looks a lot better.
