I know, I know; negative space & certainly not flat. How about 'dynamic composition' ?

Thanks CJ, I think the reflection adds to the feeling of 'roundness'.

Thanks for the comments. This one surprised me, as the whole machine is quite awkward & ugly. This is the top of a knock-off/cheapo pin-ball machine.

Fun shot Tom! Too bad about the reflection on the globe but the stickers add additional clutter to the very colorful plain and patterned balls. CJ

The sticker adds nicely to the clutter. - Debi

In this challenge, I define negative space as having an airy quality affording an escape from the clutter. Blue sky is a clutter killer, but it is not a factor here. The bigger issue is: does the whole matter more than the parts? I think the crop works well to give the image a cluttered quality and chops off the 'whole' to a point where attention is drawn by the bright colors and patterns of the parts contained in the glass globe. I also don't insist on an even disbursion of interest throughout the picture, only enough to deny a very prominent focus point. Good eye Tom and thanks for listening to what I mean, not what I say. :-) -tv

Great idea but would the right lower corner be considered neg space?
