Not at all, Maurice: not out of context. I just wondered whether your first comment meant what you explain now or whether you considered the image off-topic. I do appreciate your elaborating: thanks a lot! -- db.

Daniel, its very cluttered, but as a comparison to your other shot it has a focal point which enhances it IMO. Is hard to explain, but in this topic, I try to analyse where my eyes look, when viewing a picture. In this shot they are drawn to the chef at the front left, they then wander about the image, picking up all the other details, before again settling on the chef at the front left. I think this shot works really well and has a nice balance yet is busy with competing areas of interest.
It is also interesting how this challenge has progressed and our understanding of focal points and distracting clutter has changed, so earlier comments may have become out of context...

I appreciate your clarifying Maurice's remark, tv. And I do wholly agree with your "comparing analysis". Thanks! -- db.

No not wrong. It is still "cluttered" but since the white uniforms tend to take on a group whole, it does not "feel" as cluttered as would a mass of different, incompatible objects. IMHO, of course. -tv

Thanks for commenting on all three of my entries, Maurice. I'm not sure I understand what you mean, though: does having a focal point signify--in your opinion--there is no clutter? This image is *less* cluttered than "Tamborrada1", agreed; but, IMO, it still *is* cluttered... Am I wrong?? -- db.

Its not as cluttered as the first shot, I think the chef in the middle becomes the focal point, aided by the angle of the other chefs heads and eyes.

I imagine you refer to "Tamborrada1", tv. I do understand what you mean, but think/thought all those faces semi-hidden behind others *are* clutter. Thanks for commenting! -- db.

This doesn't work nearly as well as Tamborrada2 because there is too much repetition of the chefs uniforms. The clutter has been organized and lost. -tv
