Thanks for commenting and the kind words, Tom. That freaky-faced other-worldly creature is exactly what the title implies, a baby grasshopper. It sits on a dandelion seed head and the background is grass; nice bokeh provided by the Sigma 150mm Macro lens. Cheers, -mikey

That creature has a freaky face and the image becomes otherworldly as I contemplate the odd green background and whatever is supporting the hopper. It seems to be floating above the white fluff. Another neat one, Mikey. -tv

Thanks for the support, CJ & Techo. Phil, I posted the EXIF for you. This was the first time out for this lens. I had literally just received it and clicked it onto the cam. I really hadn't had any experience using macro lenses at this point and didn't know what f-stop would yield what result, so, you're right, it could have used a bit more DOF. Now, I try to get at least f/6.3 or smaller; preferably f/11. The smaller the better at this range. Thanks again, -mikey

Nice capture, I just regret the too short DOF , with no exif not easy to estimate!I easily imagine, you didn't have so much time to think about... Superb colors! phi75
