Eyesolate (Sad and Lonely)*

Conceptual isolation: Sad people tend to isolate themselves from the world
Eyes and expressions convey sad/alone feeling
Literal isolation: "Eye" and "solate" words try to represent tears

Now tell me, if this image conveys "sadness" and "tears" without title/explanation?

ps: edited the title, so that the voting booth does not get confused with other eyesolate

The girls know best Abs, they even know enough to let us blokes think we we know best:-)
Girls are really really smart, that's why I married one:-)

I think, I should listen to my wife more often about my photo submission selection. Rod will definitely agree here, right? hehehehe :)
She was against the writing all along. aaahhh...Thank you Cat for your comment.

Excellent portrait marred by the letters. The photo (no letters) conveys sadness/isolation well. This would have gotten my vote, if there were no letters.-Cat

Thank you Rod and Sharon.
I am glad that you considered this photo tobe a good portrait and the photo conveyed the sadness without title. i considered that to be a success.
i also agree about words...they are there solely for the challenge purpose. i tried to make them "tears" like. also, if someone cannot directly relate sadness with isolation...literal "eyesolation" would make it on-topic :)
Again...thank you for the honest critique. I appreciate it.

Abs, I find the letters distracting and maybe even disturbing, they almost look like scarring. Could you have done the words in something clear to look more like tears? The portrait itself is very well done and, as Rod said, conveys sadness if not strictly isolation ~Sharon

For me the image would represent sad without the writing on the cheek, I think it spoils a good picy.
Nicely shot though:-)
