This is a female streamertail hummingbird, which is also known as the doctor bird.
The male bird is flamboyantly coloured with long tail feathers.

If you use manual you can still use the internal flash I think it will set itself as it works really well on this sort of shot. Can't pick it for a flash shot. Well done mate:-)

Thanks for the advice Rod, at the time I was just overjoyed to have a hummingbird pose for me!
Used the internal flash, next time i'll go manual and adjust the aperture...

Lovely looking shot Jammy, well done mate. It might pay to try & go to a higher iso if the lights good & use a smaller F-stop for better DOF on the bird. When the lights ok there doesn't seem to be a noise problem if exposed well.
