Wonderful sunset shot of a lone fisherman enjoying the last rays of sunlight. Very nice Mary Anne! CJ

Great job of capturing the mood of what appears to have been a great day Mary Anne.

Thank you all for your kind comments. And, yes, winter will be setting in all too soon, and this lake will be covered with ice. It was down to about 22 F last night. Brrr!!

This is a perfectly balanced composition. It tells a story and it is wonderful to look at.

The gold reflected is soothing and dramatic. The silhouette of the fisherman is the added plus which gives a grandeur to the entire image. Beautiful Mary Anne! jano

The bloke in the boat makes this for me. Not only the end of a day but the end of a season. It has the feel that tomorrow will be blizzards and ice for months to come. Excellent

I'm not a great believer in creating different feels in our shots with post processing but to enhance or consolidate the feel you have captured with the camera is for me a part of photography (that I rarely capture:-) The more colourful sunsets are fine but these more subtle ones like you have captured here really create a nicer feel I think. It looked terrific before & now it looks just right. Well done Mary Anne:-)

Rod and Sharon, thanks for your suggestion. I was also bothered by that slice of shoreline in the bottom left corner, but I thought I wanted to leave it as close to the original as possible. However, getting the same response from two trusted sources caused me to reconsider. Jam, he had already caught "a couple of big ones" before I arrived, and he kept yelling to me that he'd get out of my way. I was running along the shore trying to get him in the right position and trying to convince him that he didn't have to move, but he zoomed off shortly after I shot this one. The sunset became more colorful, but this one with the fisherman is my favorite.

Wow, what a wonderful Halloween shot, Mary Anne! Just beautiful! I am with Rod, though, if you could clone the lower left into more water it would be perfect! ~Sharon

Glorious shot, Mary Anne! Glad to see good ol' New England represented among the beautiful places on earth! shu

Yes this has a really nice feel to it, well done. I think I would clone out the dark bit of boat or wall bottom left.
